Covance Lawsuit Update

A Superior Court hearing on the lawsuit  took place on December 14 at 2:30 p.m. in Phoenix.  Judge Paul McMurdie has up to sixty days to decide on  motions to dismiss filed by the city of Chandler and  Covance.

A group ofChandler residents and the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) filed a lawsuit against the City of Chandler on July 2^nd.   To view the five-count Complaint click here.  The lawsuit alleges thatChandler violated Arizona's Open Meetings Law and state and City zoning laws.  It asks the Court to void actions taken byChandler that have allowed Covance to start construction on its animal research facility. The Complaint is worth reading.  We recommend it to anyone who is interested in this important issue.
